Over the course of the last couple of years, the towing industry in our region has become increasingly competitive with the addition of several upstart companies in our sector. Many of these companies are able to get their foot in your doors by competing on price point. It is my hope all of our past, present and future clients will ask themselves when making decisions in regards to their service providers is, "Can I afford to award work on pricing alone?"
In the last ten years throughout our tenure we have learned every aspect of our industry and understand what makes Mayne Towing succeed and what pitfalls and shortcuts to avoid. I often wonder what area price cuts are coming out of, as we all know the cost of doing business properly and professionally is constantly rising.
Following are a few areas in which we feel our product has some more value than perhaps some of our competitors can offer.
First and foremost we make safety a focal point. We are the only towing operation in Northern Alberta to offer a comprehensive safety program accompanied by a satisfactory, audited safety rating from Transport Canada. In addition we have the extensive insurance and WCB our customers require.
Second, we have recently worked very closely with Transport Canada to achieve a very solid maintenance program, implemented by full time on site mechanics, as well as systems to monitor hours of service for all of our drivers.
Next, our entire operation from 24 hour dispatch to maintenance, vehicle storage and accounting is all in one central, purpose built location. This measure helps ensure all of your transactions go smoothly from dispatch to accounting.
Last, in our ten years serving northern Alberta and BC we have learned the value of qualified staff, having no less than 10 employees on call at all times to serve you with modern units, all of which are equipped with GPS units for added safety for operators. When required, we have a network of subcontractors with whom we have forged strong, long standing relationships which helps to expedite any large jobs you may have.
In closing, when you have the need for towing services for your fleet, please take a moment to ask; is the least expensive way always money well spent?
